This is the real testing time for parents. It definitely is a time when you need to be the parent and not just another friend. Sometimes we need to be firm even when they tell us, “I hate you.” This is a hard time for teenagers. They want to be adults and have freedom, yet they sometimes use mor judgment. We need to recognize they are trying to grow up and let them have more freedom, but not give them so much freedom that they hurt themselves. We need to mother not smother them. This should be a lively topic…… so let her rip. Teens are welcome to put in their ideas too.
